Thank you for purchasing this day planner.  My name is Kate Conway.  I am a wife and mother of four children.  I love God, being a wife and mother, and yes, I love calendars!  Unfortunately, I never could find that one calendar/day planner that inspired me to be the kind of wife and mother I wanted to be.  One that put God first, incorporated my Catholic traditions, and kept me organized.  So, one day in March of 2001 God nudged me in a big way to make one and while I was at it – glorify His Mother!  So, 3 years and 2 babies later…here it is…
Orderly Days: A Catholic traditions day planner that helps you organize your life the way God intended – in a proper and orderly way.  –1 Corinthians 14:40.

We are living in a society that complicates our mission.  It complicates our goals and even our everyday routine.  My prayer is that Orderly Days will help instill a God-focus in your life and once that is accomplished, amazingly but not surprisingly, everything else falls into place.  This doesn’t mean that we won’t have our trials or periods of loneliness or suffering of some kind, but what we can count on is receiving the grace from God to get us through these periods.  We simply need to put ourselves in His presence and ask for His help.  He is the one who can make us strong when we are weak.  He is the one who can lift us up when we are down.  We also have an awesome mentor that we can rely on in our Mother, Mary.  We can be assured that it is by no accident that Mary, the Mother of God, is to be our model for the sanctification of marriage and family life.  Only a mother here on Earth can share in God’s creative miracle of bringing new souls to Heaven.  With this in mind, we can only imagine Mary’s holiness in that God chose her to be the vessel in which the Son of God should enter the World.  It seems that if God held Mary, the Mother of God, in such high regard so should we.

As a society, we are always searching for meditative ways of communicating with God and the Rosary is a great source of relaxation and gives us the peace we need to finish fully with our daily duties.  The Rosary is beautiful and pleasing to Mary, the Mother of God.  The mysteries take you through the life of her son!  What an incredible tribute to both of them to meditate on their lives – the beautiful and the painful.  I can honestly say that the days that I make the Rosary a priority are my best days!  I’m calmer, more patient, and truly represent the kind of mother I try very hard to be.  The days I don’t…well, you don’t really want to hear about those days!   A friend told me recently that having a Rosary going throughout the day helps keep us from idle, harmful thoughts.  Think about it – if we are meditating on Christ’s life it sure is hard to obsess and worry about ourselves!

I have prayed that Orderly Days is able to reach and encourage mothers of all Faith backgrounds.  We can all learn so much from each other and instead of being apologetic, we can stand firm in our Faith and spread the fullness of what we have learned with our sisters in Christ!  I see an exciting opportunity for all Christian mothers to come together no matter what your Faith background and once again capture the holiness Mary, the Mother of God, was called to as a mother and housewife.

Enjoy this day planner and make it your own.  I have had so much fun pursuing this project and want to thank my God and His Mother, my husband, family and friends for their support and advice.  Please email me with any suggestions and/or comments.  God bless you and your efforts at being the kind of peaceful, orderly mother God has called you to be!
